Privacy Policy

Effective Date

This policy is effective September 10, 2026.

Account and App Data

Velvet stores your account email and identifier, linked provider configuration, device activation records, app settings, favorites and playback-history identifiers, feedback, and purchase entitlement state. This data is linked to your account so sign-in, device linking, synchronization, support, and purchase restoration work across devices.

Provider and Playback Data

Provider credentials and device fingerprints are used only to let your device contact the provider you configure. Catalog titles, electronic program guide content, and playback links remain on your device and are not stored in Velvet's account service. Velvet does not host video content, and fresh playback links come from your configured provider when you choose to play an item.

Diagnostics, Usage, and Advertising

Anonymous usage measurements are stored on-device and are not currently uploaded to Velvet. On supported mobile apps, you may opt in to Firebase Crashlytics diagnostics and Google AdMob advertising measurement; iOS also presents Apple's tracking permission where required. These optional services are disabled until you consent and can be disabled in Settings. They are not active in the macOS app.

Purchases and Service Providers

Apple processes App Store purchases and sends Velvet the information needed to verify and restore entitlements. Velvet also uses infrastructure and email providers to operate authentication, synchronization, support, and security. Google receives diagnostics or advertising data only for the optional supported-mobile features described above.

Operational Logs

Velvet keeps limited authentication, synchronization, billing, security, abuse-prevention, and error logs. These may include timestamps, request status, account or device identifiers, and network information such as IP address. Sensitive provider credentials, catalog titles, and playback URLs are excluded from application logs.

Retention and Your Choices

Account data is retained while your account is active and as needed for security, billing, legal, and operational records. You can withdraw optional diagnostics and advertising consent, request a data export, or request account deletion in Settings. You may contact us to request access or correction. Deletion requests remove account data subject to records we must retain for legal, fraud-prevention, or transaction purposes.

Sharing and Sale

Velvet does not sell personal data and does not share it with data brokers. Data is shared only with the processors described here when needed to provide the service, comply with law, protect the service, or when you direct us to do so.
